Now that you have your categories and your first post ready to share with your website visitors you need to make sure to display your blog in your website.

There ar a few steps to achieve this.

For those using our custom theme, there is no default layout for posts that you have created.

Once you have cretaed a post, you will need to style the post. The easiest way to do this is to use the Page Builder Templates.

Creating A Template

The easiest way to create a template is to copy an existing page layout. To do this:

  • Open the page you want to copy
  • Click the Page Builder link to load the editor
  • Once the Page Builder loads, click the ‘Tools’ option on the top right
  • Select the ‘Save Template’ option
  • Give your template a name, and click Save.
  • Click ‘Done’ and Publish Changes’.

Assign Template To Posts

You will now need to edit all of your Posts with the Page Builder, and give them your new template.

To do this go to Posts -> All Posts from your Dashboard menu.

Click the Page Builder lionk for the post you wish to edit.

Your post will open with the Page Builder and you will see there is no styling to your post.

Click the ‘Templates’ button from the top right of the page.

Select the Layout you have just created.

Click ‘Append New Layout’

You will then need to reposition your post content by using the Move tool.

You can now delete any irrelevant content, and change any header images etc as you wish.

Display Your Posts In A Page

You can display any category of posts on any page in your website using the the Page Builder -> Advanced Modules -> Posts option.

For our example we have a Posts Category called Staff.

Open the page you wish to display your Posts on with the Page Builder.

Under Advanced Modules, click and drag the Posts option into the page.

You will then have the Posts Settings box appear.

There are many different layout options to choose from. We recommend to experiment and see what works best for you.

Wordpress Widgets – Sidebar Posts

With the Page Builder you can use the WordPress Widgets to display links to your most recent posts. This would be ideal to display in your website footer.

Usually a footer would be a Global element, so you only have to edit this in one place, rather than on every page.

Open your footer in edit mode, and under WordPress Widgets click and drag the Sidebar Posts option into your footer.

Choose your desired settings, such as the Category of posts you wish to display, an the Post links will then display.
